It's a beautiful summer day today and I spent my morning with an active curious two-year-old who loves to be "outside". Needless to say I'm a bit out of practice and I'm whooped! It was only half of the dynamic duo, his sister is off at day care while he's at home recovering from a big owie. Twins and higher multiples take the mothering scale up exponentially and as our children grow we often forget the all-consuming energy of keeping up. In spite of the high energy required for mothering young ones, the joy and simplicity they bring to our lives is a precious gift. We so often forget in our fast-paced demanding lives to stop and smell the roses, watch a squirrel gather nuts, a butterfly flit by, and get a thrill out of the roar of a lawn mower. We get to relive these simple pleasures and the wonder and awe of our world through the eyes of the young ones. What a blessing!
